A new web app called Fuel-Finder has launched to help UK drivers find the cheapest petrol and diesel at fuel stations across the country. Built independently by a British developer from Norfolk, the tool provides near real-time price comparison data for thousands of forecourts and aims to save motorists time and money when refuelling.
Fuel-Finder UK is a fuel price comparison service covering more than 8,000 fuel stations across the United Kingdom. Prices are updated automatically every hour from the official Government Fuel Finder Scheme API. Prices are backed up by community reports and official retailer feeds to ensure accuracy and relevance. Fuel-Finder operates independently, has no advertising and pledges not to sell user data or track locations.

Users can browse current petrol and diesel prices across the UK, using the platform to plan journeys or simply locate the best local fuel deals before heading to a station. The web app also makes available a UK Fuel Price Index, offering national averages and regional trends for editorial and research use, with embeddable widgets for publishers.
The founder, Scott, originally created the tool to help save money on fuel for his own vintage VW campervan before realising it could benefit other drivers too. What began as a personal project has grown into a highly useful resource that thousands of motorists can use to make smarter refuelling choices.
Fuel prices can vary significantly across different locations and brands (there is currently a 10p per litre price difference between fuel stations within 10 miles near me!), comparison tools like Fuel-Finder are becoming increasingly valuable to drivers looking to reduce motoring costs.
As an independent UK-built platform, Fuel-Finder highlights how home-grown British tech innovation is being applied to practical, everyday challenges.
