Health and beauty retailer Superdrug has unveiled a major expansion plan to open 30 new stores across the UK during 2026 signalling strong confidence in the future of bricks-and-mortar retail and meeting rising shopper demand. The growth drive is set to bring around 600 new jobs, offering employment opportunities across communities from Scotland and England to Wales.
The expansion supports the company’s strategy to invest in large-format destination shops and retail park locations, where customers can enjoy an enhanced retail experience combining everyday essentials with beauty and healthcare services. New outlets are planned in a range of locations, including Dundee Gallagher Retail Park, White Rose Leeds, Cwmbran Retail Park and others, broadening access to Superdrug products and services for a wide audience.
Alongside new sites, Superdrug intends to upgrade 60 existing stores, refreshing their look and feel and underscoring the company’s commitment to customer experience. Many of these revamped shops will also feature Superdrug Beauty Studios, offering services such as ear piercing, manicures and eyebrow treatments for the first time in some communities.
According to Superdrug’s property director, the roll-out is a clear vote of confidence in the UK high street, emphasising that customers value expertise, welcoming spaces and easy access to beauty and healthcare products in their local areas.
