The National Wealth Fund has helped mobilise more than £68 billion in public and private finance across the UK, supporting over 83,000 jobs.
Figures in the Fund’s second Impact Report show it has committed more than £10.9 billion across 90 investments. It has also provided a £36.6 billion term loan for the development of Sizewell C.
Together, the investments cover infrastructure and industries identified as important to long-term growth. They are expected to help avoid 117 million tonnes of CO₂e over their lifetime.
More support for regional growth
The Fund has increased its focus on regions, arguing that national growth depends partly on local infrastructure, skills, businesses and partnerships. Its strategic partnerships programme places investment and advisory expertise within Mayoral Authorities and City Regions now covering around a quarter of the UK population.
The report highlights opportunities including critical minerals extraction in Cornwall and Devon, and wind farms in the Orkney Islands. It says the Fund is backing the strengths of different places while building its wider investment portfolio.
Why it matters for Britain
The figures point to investment reaching beyond London and supporting jobs across the UK. Projects linked to infrastructure, energy and industry could also bring long-term regional economic benefits while helping cut future emissions.
