Yorkshire furniture maker NaughtOne has opened a new 33,000 sq ft factory in Birstall, near Leeds, as it prepares for its next phase of growth.
Norquest House is almost three times the size of the company’s former site in Elland. It brings production, warehousing and customer experience together, with the aim of improving service reliability and creating a better working environment for staff.
A lower-carbon base for future production
The facility will manufacture furniture for customers in the UK and Europe, while also supporting new product development and bespoke designs through a dedicated Custom Studio. It will serve as NaughtOne’s Centre for Excellence, setting production standards for the wider business.
Norquest House runs on renewable energy and has an A-rated Energy Performance Certificate. Its location and improved operations are expected to reduce the company’s carbon footprint, including by cutting travel distances by an average of 8,500 miles a year.
The opening comes as NaughtOne enters its 22nd year. The Harrogate-based company has also opened a new headquarters and London showroom, and plans to launch showrooms in Chicago and New York in 2025.
Why it matters for Britain
The investment keeps NaughtOne’s expanded production operation in Yorkshire while supporting furniture manufacturing for UK and European customers. Its renewable-energy site and shorter travel distances also offer a practical way to reduce the environmental impact of the business.
