A £370 million deal to supply Kuwait with advanced air-defence systems is expected to create 100 new skilled jobs in the UK.
MARSS Systems Limited, part of EOS, will provide and integrate the system, with production based in Bristol. The expansion is set to support engineering and manufacturing roles as the company delivers the equipment through 2027.
AI-enabled protection from airborne threats
The system combines jammers, radars and interceptors with MARSS’s NiDAR platform, an AI-enabled command and control centre. Together, they are designed to help Kuwait detect, deter and defeat airborne threats.
The agreement forms part of Taskforce Sabre, a UK government and industry effort supporting Gulf states in securing air-defence systems and weapons. It follows missile and drone attacks in the region.
Britain has already supplied Kuwait with Rapid Sentry, a ground-based air-defence missile system. The RAF’s ORCUS system is also operating there to help detect drones at an early stage.
The latest contract builds on that existing support, while giving MARSS the opportunity to expand its UK offices and production capacity. The government says the deal will strengthen engineering and manufacturing skills alongside the international sale of British-developed technology.
Why it matters for Britain
The contract is expected to bring 100 new skilled jobs to the UK, with production centred in Bristol. It also supports domestic engineering and manufacturing capacity through 2027.
